Expert of the Month: Mummy, Mummy Mum

This month we've been celebrating family at Ebuzzing. And as it's Mother's Day this Sunday we've spoken to one of our favourite mums and author of Mummy Mummy Mum, one of the top family and parenting blogs in the Ebuzzing network, Emma Vanstone.

1. How long have you been blogging?

For three years.

2. What got you started?

I returned to work after maternity leave following my first and second children, but the nursery costs made it unworkable after baby number 3, so I started my blog as a way to give me something to keep me busy and to earn a little extra income. Blogging has given us so much as a family, great days out, weekends away and new friends. I'm so glad I started.

3. How many children do you have?

Three

4. What is your favourite family activity?

We like to go exploring in the forest nearby on bikes and scooters. We're always looking for a new adventure.

5. What’s your advice to any mums or dads looking to start a blog?

Don't just dive straight in, think carefully about what you want your blog to be called, research the name to make sure no one else is using it, and choose a name that you can keep as your family grows or children get older.

Once you're all set up, join in with linkys to find blogs to read and drive people to your blog, comment on blogs you find interesting and start chatting on twitter. You tend to get out of blogging what you put in, it takes time to build up, but is definitely worth the effort.
