The US Elections Seen From Europe
November 9 2012
This year’s US presidential election sparked a social media boom. With Barack Obama winning another term in the Whitehouse his celebratory tweet ‘four more years’ became the most re-tweeted post in Twitter’s history. Here at Ebuzzing we have used our labs to analyse the social media response, to see how the candidates fared online.

All in all, it is safe to say that Obama won the social media campaign by an overwhelming margin, attracting almost three times more likes than his rival. Interestingly the Romney campaign generated a higher engagement rate, despite Obama’s campaign being so much more successful.
Here at Ebuzzing we look forward to seeing the role social media has to play in the 2016 elections and in politics in general.
Here’s to four more years!
